About this material

What it is

Sequence-numbered cryogenic labels rated to −80 °C, paired with a bound log whose rows carry the same numbers. Aliquoting a released lot into unlabelled tubes breaks the chain between your data and the certificate that backs it; this is the cheapest way to not do that.

Laboratory handling

Storage and material handling

  1. 01Labels are rated for −80 °C and survive liquid-nitrogen vapour phase. Apply to dry, ambient-temperature glass.
  2. 02Each label carries a pre-printed sequence number that matches a row in the log — write the lot number beside it before the vial goes into storage.
  3. 03The log is the record. If the label comes off, the log is what identifies the aliquot.
  4. 04No disposal restrictions.

Laboratory storage and material handling only. No dose, concentration, route, frequency or administration guidance is provided for this or any other item, for humans or animals.

The label and log pairing solved a real problem

Students were aliquoting into unlabelled tubes and then guessing. The pre-numbered labels with matching log rows fixed it in one term. Not glamorous, and the single most useful thing we have bought this year.
