Policies, terms and the gaps still in them
Four sections: research-use policy, terms of sale, privacy, and shipping and returns. Where a term needs a decision only a licensed attorney should make, the page says so in square brackets instead of filling the space with text that reads like law.

Not yet legal copy
Everything on this page is a drafting starting point, written to be reviewed rather than relied on. It is not legal advice and it must not go live in this state. An attorney licensed in the operating jurisdiction has to complete the bracketed gaps, confirm the liability and indemnity provisions against local law, and confirm the privacy section against every regime we ship into.
One item is more urgent than the rest: the trading name. “Pharmacy” is a protected term in most U.S. states, and using it while positioning as a research-use-only supplier is both a licensing exposure and a direct contradiction of the research-use policy below. Resolve the name with counsel before launch, not after.
Research-Use Policy
Attorney review required. Jurisdiction-specific terms unresolved.
All materials supplied by PTP Pharmacy are chemical reference materials intended solely for laboratory research and analytical use. They are not drugs, foods, cosmetics, dietary supplements or medical devices, and they have not been evaluated or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for any purpose.
No material supplied by PTP Pharmacy is intended for human or veterinary consumption, administration, injection, inhalation, topical application or ingestion. No statement made by PTP Pharmacy, on this website or elsewhere, should be construed as a representation that any material is safe or effective for any such use.
Buyer certification
By placing an order, the buyer certifies each of the following. These certifications are conditions of sale, and an order placed without them is void.
- The buyer is at least 21 years of age.
- The buyer is acquiring the material on behalf of a laboratory, research institution, contract research organisation, teaching facility or qualified individual research programme.
- The material will be used exclusively for in-vitro research or analytical purposes.
- The material will not be administered to, consumed by, or applied to any human or animal.
- The material will not be resold, repackaged or redistributed for any use inconsistent with this policy.
- The buyer is solely responsible for the safe handling, storage and disposal of the material in accordance with applicable law and institutional procedure.
Prohibited use and refusal of sale
PTP Pharmacy reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its sole discretion, including where the stated or apparent purpose is inconsistent with this policy, where the buyer requests that research-use declarations be omitted from documentation, or where the buyer requests dosing, administration or clinical guidance.
PTP Pharmacy is not a pharmacy, does not employ a dispensing pharmacist, is not registered with any state board of pharmacy, and does not dispense prescription or over-the-counter drugs. PTP Pharmacy is not a healthcare provider and cannot provide medical, dosing or administration guidance under any circumstances.
[Attorney to complete: export-control and controlled-substance screening obligations; jurisdictions in which sale is restricted or prohibited; institutional-verification requirements, if any.]
Terms of Sale
Attorney review required. Governing law, liability cap and dispute forum unresolved.
Orders and acceptance
An order constitutes an offer to purchase. No contract is formed until PTP Pharmacy confirms the order in writing and the required research-use and age certifications have been made. Prices are quoted in U.S. dollars and are subject to change before order confirmation.
Specifications and certificates
Material is supplied against the certificate of analysis issued for the specific lot shipped. The certificate describes the material as tested on the date stated. It is not a warranty of suitability for any particular application, and it does not survive any handling, storage or reconstitution performed by the buyer.
Where the buyer's own testing disagrees with a released figure, PTP Pharmacy will re-run the retained sample for that lot on the original method and disclose the result. Remedies in the event of a confirmed discrepancy are limited to those set out under Shipping & Returns.
Disclaimer of warranties
Except for the lot-specific certificate of analysis, all material is supplied without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. [Attorney to confirm the enforceable scope of this disclaimer in each operating jurisdiction.]
Limitation of liability
[Attorney to complete: liability cap, exclusion of consequential damages, and the interaction of both with the buyer's indemnity below. Do not publish this section with a placeholder figure.]
Buyer indemnity
The buyer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless PTP Pharmacy against any claim, loss or liability arising from the buyer's handling, storage, use, resale or disposal of material supplied, including any use inconsistent with the Research-Use Policy.
Governing law
[Attorney to specify: governing law, venue, dispute-resolution mechanism, and whether arbitration is to be required.]
Privacy Policy
Attorney review required. Processor list, retention periods and regional rights unresolved.
What is collected
PTP Pharmacy collects the information needed to fulfil an order and to maintain the traceability records that the Research-Use Policy depends on.
- Contact and organisation details submitted through the contact or order-request forms: name, email address, and any order or lot reference provided.
- Order records, including catalogue items, lot numbers shipped, and the research-use and age certifications made at the time of purchase.
- Correspondence with the documentation desk, retained so that a question about a lot can be reconstructed later.
- Standard server and delivery-network logs, which include IP address and user agent.
The research-use acknowledgement shown on first visit is recorded in the browser's own local storage. It is not transmitted to PTP Pharmacy and is not used for tracking or advertising.
How it is used
Information is used to fulfil and document orders, to respond to enquiries, to notify buyers if a lot they received is later withdrawn, and to meet record-keeping obligations. It is not sold, and it is not used for behavioural advertising.
Retention
Order and lot-traceability records are retained because a withdrawal notice years after the fact requires knowing who received which lot. [Attorney to specify: retention period per record class, and the deletion procedure for records not subject to a retention obligation.]
Processors and disclosure
[Attorney and operations to complete: the list of third-party processors — hosting, form handling, payment, carriers, contract laboratory — and what each receives. Every processor must be named here before launch.]
Your rights
[Attorney to complete: applicable rights of access, correction, deletion and portability under the regimes that apply to the operating jurisdictions and to the regions shipped to, together with the request procedure and response window.]
Shipping & Returns
Attorney review required. Carrier and customs terms unresolved.
Dispatch
Orders confirmed before 13:00 Central on a business day are picked the same day. Lyophilised material ships at ambient temperature in an insulated pack with gel packs. Cold-chain shipping with a temperature indicator is available on request and is standard on any order containing sterile diluent.
Every shipment carries a research-use declaration on the commercial invoice. PTP Pharmacy will not omit, reword or understate that declaration, including where doing so would expedite customs clearance.
Returns
- Unopened vials with an intact seal may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the item price.
- Once a seal is broken the material cannot be returned to stock, because its certified condition can no longer be attested.
- Consumables may be returned within 30 days in unopened cartons.
- Return shipping is the buyer's responsibility except where the return arises from an error or defect on our side.
Damage, mislabelling and certificate mismatch
Material that arrives damaged, mislabelled, or bearing a lot number that does not match its certificate is replaced or refunded in full at the buyer's choice. The shipment is investigated on our side in either case, and the finding is recorded against the lot in the archive.
Confirmed analytical discrepancy
Where the buyer's testing and our released figure disagree and re-analysis of the retained sample confirms the discrepancy, the lot is withdrawn, its archive entry is annotated with the finding, every recipient of that lot is contacted, and the affected order is refunded or replaced at the buyer's choice.
International shipments
[Attorney and operations to complete: Incoterms, responsibility for duties and taxes, restricted destinations, and the buyer's obligation to hold any import permit required in the destination jurisdiction.]
